Abstract

The mission of the Hunthausen Center for Peace and Justice is to encourage, foster, and support a culture of service that shapes the whole person. Its dedication to service, action, and education is continually renewed through shared fellowship and prayer with all people of good will. In this mission, Catholic social teaching is an essential foundation in which the work of the Hunthausen Center is focused on. At the heart of Catholic teaching, the importance of human dignity is expressed through all aspects of life. Three student workers from the Hunthausen Center for Peace and Justice will talk about their experience working in this office. They will discuss implementation of Catholic social teaching in their work and events throughout the past few semesters. In addition, they will mention how they experienced Catholic social teaching and share wisdom they have gained as a result of working in the Hunthausen Center.
