Abstract

Objective: To review the current literature on the effectiveness of dry needling and how it affects quality of life and pain reduction in individuals experiencing lower back pain. Methods: Literature was identified through PubMed, CINAHL, and Google Scholar assessing the quality of life of individuals who are experiencing lower back pain and how the treatment of dry needling has affected them. Results: Dry needling is an effective way to treat lower back pain, and a majority of participants that were studied reported improvement in their degrees of mobility and experienced less pain doing their daily activities. Conclusion: The findings in this review have shown that dry needling is effective for people experiencing musculoskeletal pain and has helped them improve their quality of life.
