Abstract

The focus of this project is the study of compliance-gaining communication strategies used by college instructors within the classroom environment. In order to effectively illustrate the relevance of compliance-gaining strategies in human communication, a discussion of behavior alteration techniques used by both experienced, and individuals preparing to become teachers will be presented. Since the students are the target variables, which most of the effect is directed, a discussion and analysis of both destructive and constructive student resistance strategies is also included in the discussion.
