Abstract

Soybean and corn plants sprayed with a simulated acid-rain of pH values 5.0, 4.0, 3.5 and 3.0 exhibited a trend towards taller and heavier growth than did water-sprayed plants. More foliar applied cadmium was taken up in the acid-treated plants than in the water controls, and Cd-induced leaf injury was magnified by the acid treatments.
