Abstract

The absorption and retention of 51Cr and 113Sn in adult and neonatal rats was studied. Absorption and retention of both 51Cr and 113Sn was significantly higher in neonates. Both radionuclides were retained in the gastrointestinal tract, liver, kidneys, and the carcasses. Higher neonatal retention suggests a possible health hazard to young animals.
