Abstract
Herein we report our attempt at electrochemical analysis of thiophene compounds, as well as ferrocene, via cyclic voltammetry (CV). More specifically, we report our attempt to quantify oxidative homocoupling dimerization carbon-carbon bond-forming. Efforts towards quantifying the reaction rate kinetic parameters of a two-step thiophene synthesis will be presented. Analysis of synthetically-made phenyl thiophene molecules by other researchers, made by another researcher, will be presented. Comparisons between CV potentiostat analysis and CV simulations will be presented.
