Abstract
The Carroll Guatemala Engineers Without Borders (EWB) team assembled at a variety of locations from around the USA before travelling together as a group into Guatemala City from Atlanta on a 7:00 PM flight on Sunday night. Only one of the team traveled all the way there solo (Jared Weight), who flew from Salt Lake City to Houston, later arriving in Guatemala City about an hour and a half before the rest of us. Seven of us departed about 6:30 am from the Helena airport (Michael Brennan, professional mentor from Morrison-Maierle, Trey Scofield – project leader, his Dad Vince Scofield (who successfully bid on an EWB trip and elected to go with his son) and the following students: Will French, Amanda Harrod, and Maggie Panasuk – health and safety officer). Carroll’s own Michelle Lewis and her husband were at the airport on a trip of their own and wished us well. Trish McNicoll came in from LA, Morgan Shimkis came in from Seattle, Inderbir “Indy” Bains came in from Spokane, and Callie Morris came in from Baltimore.
