Abstract

Objective: To review literature on MR-guided adaptive radiotherapy (MRgART) compared to conventional radiotherapy in improving local tumor control in metastatic liver cancer. Methods: Literature was gathered through PubMed and Google Scholar. Included studies evaluated radiotherapy for liver tumors and reported outcomes such as local tumor control, planning target volume (PTV) coverage, biologically effective dose (BED), and treatment-related toxicity. Results: Most studies showed MRgART improves PTV coverage and increases BED delivery. Local tumor control rates of 80-90% were reported with acceptable toxicity. Adaptive techniques were also associated with reduced gastrointestinal toxicity, though some studies noted potential immune effects. Discussion: MRgART improves treatment precision and tumor control but further research is needed to confirm clinical benefits.
