Abstract

As Latino/Hispanic communities grows to be the largest minority group in the United States, there is a need for healthcare workers to gain cultural awareness and humility. This infographic serves as a small piece to gain insight into traditional Latin gender roles pertaining to "machismo" and "marianismo" which are social constructs that continue to affect how Latino patients seek/receive medical care. Awareness and education on the effects of gender roles in Latin communities help healthcare workers better-serve their Latino patients as culturally humble people.
