    Title
Caring for Mind, Body, Heart, and Spirit: A Holistic Model of Ministry
    Abstract
Every human is made up of mind, body, heart, and spirit. In the medical realm, there is a tendency to focus only on the biology, or the physical aspects of an illness. Within the last 100 years, more and more emphasis has been placed on the need of medicine to deal with the whole person. In ministry, similar reform has also begun. Instead of focusing solely on the spiritual, ministers strive to see the whole person and the many needs that an individual has. The Bible offers compelling stories that highlight the needs of the whole person. The evidence in the medical community for the effectiveness of holistic care is compelling for the physician and minister alike. Continuing to push for this sort of framework is vital. A holistic model of ministry creates space for ministers to offer more comprehensive help.
