    Abstract
An inventory of the Makoshika State Park flora was compiled. Approximately 200 plant species were collected and pressed; 160 have been identified. Distinct communities were defined by soil type, moisture requirements, and degree of human intervention. The ecological affects the environment exerts on vegetaton and the vegetations alterations of the environment were considered. The study reveals that the harsh habitat of Makoshika State Park supports diverse plant populations.
